BMW’s 2019 3 Series Recaptures the Sports Sedan Crown

February 8th, 2019 by

The passenger car is supposedly dead … until you see BMW’s redesigned 2019 3 Series. TopSpeed calls it “The Once and Future King.”

The seventh-generation 2019 BMW 330i comes to Schomp BMW sporting a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that churns out 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque and in the xDrive version hits zero-to-60 mph in 5.3 seconds. Coming a bit later this year is the even-faster 2020 BMW M340 and a plug-in hybrid 330e will also be forthcoming. BMW builds cars for people who love to drive and thrill to the connection between themselves and the road.

“The 2019 330i feels more fun from behind the wheel…”

AutoBlog.com says “the 2019 330i feels more fun from behind the wheel – it’s perfectly balanced on the road, turn in is tight and quick, and undulating roadways are conquered without drama.” Extensive use of aluminum, a lower center of gravity and a perfectly balanced, 50-50 weight distribution allow the 330i to be larger but lighter, and a stiffer suspension gives drivers even better handling and steering.

The interior is also revamped with a standard digital gauge display and an 8.8-inch touchscreen iDrive infotainment center with gesture control that can “read” up to seven different midair arm/hand movements. There are plentiful options including a 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system and head-up display, wireless charging and adaptive navigation. BMW’s new Intelligent Personal Assistant is similar to Siri or Alexa. The Digital Key allows drivers to integrate engine ignition and door locks with your smartphone.

Safety is paramount with standard collision warnings and automatic emergency braking and optional active cruise control, lane-control and lane-keep assist along with other advanced safety technology.

The 2019 BMW 3 Series is unquestionably alive and well now at Schomp BMW of Highlands Ranch. Seeing – and driving – is believing.
