Every BMW is engineered to have a near perfect 50/50 weight distribution that translates to unparalleled road-hugging handling. At the core of every 2017 5 Series sedan is a heritage of high performance engines which have set the standard for the world’s original sport sedan benchmark.

The all-new 530i xDrive boasts 248 horsepower courtesy of a 2.0-L, twin-scroll-turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Thanks to direct fuel injection and a bevy of modern technology, this motor hauls the new 5 Series with authority. Fuel economy figures have not yet been released, but expect the 2017 530i xDrive to lead the luxury sedan segment in both city and highway economy.

Significantly upgraded for 2017, the 540i xDrive’s 3.0-L twin-scroll-turbocharged inline-six-cylinder engine channels 335 horsepower through an eight-speed automatic transmission and xDrive all-wheel drive. From its throaty growl to BMW’s trademark smoothness, this engine is a sweetheart, and plays the perfect complement to the new 5 Series lineup.

Coming soon, the raucous BMW motorsport-engineered M550i xDrive sedan features a 456 horsepower twin-scroll-turbocharged V-8 paired with an eight-speed sport automatic transmission and a rear-wheel-biased xDrive all-wheel-drive system. 0-60 MPH is projected to arrive in just 4.0 seconds.
